The 2019 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb could only be described as once in a lifetime event. It’s the first and so far, the only time I’ve been to this type of motorsports event, and I’m hooked. Although you have to arrive before the sun rises, and you’ll only see one car at a time with many moments in between each car, It’s still the closest you can get to the action without being run over! So with that along with the deep history of the climb is what makes this event so special!
The 97th running of the PPIHC was not without tragedy as Ducati Rider Carlin Dunne lost his life only 20 yards from the finish line… My deepest condolences to his family and the motorcycle racing community that lost a great rider.
